The region of Zupa Dubrovacka
The region of Zupa dubrovacka and its picturesque settlements Kupari, Srebreno, Mlini and Soline, is situated 8 km south-east of Dubrovnik. The dramatic landscape ranges from high, steep hills in the north down to the valley with Mediterranean vegetation in the south, revealing crystal blue sea and sandy beaches. Some consider this area to be the most beautiful on the Dubrovnik Riviera.
Mlini
Eight kilometres south-east from Dubrovnik, half way between the city of Dubrovnik and the airport Dubrovnik, lays a small town called Mlini. Caressing the shore of Zupa bay, Mlini is considered the most beautiful small town in the region of Zupa dubrovacka. The upper part of the Mlini is called Trgoviste and is situated on the road connecting Mlini with Dubrovnik and the airport Dubrovnik. The name Mlini derives from the word “mlin” which is Croatian word for mill. Mlini is well known for its historic water mills and its millworkers.
